Some Gospel Artistes took my album to cemetery – Cwesi Oteng

Cwesi Oteng, a gospel musician, recently shared his experiences in the industry. He faced attacks from fellow musicians when he started his career.

In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes, he discussed his challenges. His unique style and sudden rise caused envy among other artists. Some feared he would overshadow their fame.

Cwesi claimed that some industry players struggled to understand his music. He alleged that people took his debut album to cemeteries to block his success. His album included popular songs like "I Win" and "God Dey Bless Me."

He described entering gospel music as bringing a fresh idea. However, this also led to spiritual attacks and criticism from church members. Many felt threatened by his new approach.

These challenges have impacted his popularity in Ghana. It has become harder for his recent tracks to gain attention. As a result, Cwesi's name has faded among music lovers.

To overcome these obstacles, he decided to re-energize himself. He believes in taking time off to focus on personal growth. “Stardom is really my thing,” he said about managing his career pace.

Cwesi has released a new song titled "Favour." This song reminds believers of their blessings and encourages them to declare it daily.
