Some ladies join movie industry ready to sleep their way to fame - Jide Kosoko

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has addressed the ongoing debate about sex-for-roles in Nigeria’s film industry, asserting that some actresses intentionally engage in such exchanges to boost their careers.

Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Kosoko disputed the notion that directors and producers always pressure actresses into compromising situations.

He emphasized that participation is ultimately a choice, stating, "If you refuse, no one can force you. But if you agree, it means you are willing to play along."

While acknowledging that such demands are inappropriate, he argued that individuals must take responsibility for their decisions.

Kosoko further claimed that some women deliberately enter Nollywood with the mindset of leveraging sexual relationships for fame, adding that he is aware of popular actresses—and even a magistrate—who have done so.
