Ghanaian musician Stay Jay has criticized the standard of songwriting in Ghana, describing it as lacking depth and authenticity.

In an interview on 3FM Lounge, he stated that songwriting is a divine calling requiring talent and God’s gift, not just random creativity.

He emphasized that many current songwriters lack genuine writing skills, relying instead on vibes.

Stay Jay shared that songwriting comes naturally to him, often inspired during studio sessions.

He prays before recording and creates songs spontaneously without writing them down.
