Singer King Promise (KP) is not slowing down after his big win. He recently won the Artiste of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs). The event took place on Saturday, May 10, at the Grand Arena in Accra. This was a special occasion, marking the awards' 26th anniversary.
KP expressed his excitement about winning. He had hoped to win last year but achieved it this time. "I was very hopeful I would win," he told Graphic Showbiz. He feels grateful for the love from fans and Ghanaians.
He appreciates being recognized for his hard work. "Thank you, Ghana, for acknowledging my efforts," he said. KP aims to continue promoting Ghanaian music worldwide.
Some winners become complacent after their victory, but KP disagrees. "That will definitely not be my story," he stated confidently. He plans to keep working hard and staying consistent.
Before the awards, he was busy touring cities like Washington and New York. "I just got back home from a tour," he shared. His team is committed to pushing Ghanaian music globally.
King Promise rose to fame with his hit song "Oh Yeah" in 2017. In 2018, he received seven nominations at the Ghana Music Awards but went home empty-handed. He faced social media trolling afterward but remained positive.
"More work! More music," he tweeted in response to critics. In 2019, he won Songwriter of the Year for his hit "CCTV." This year, he also won Best Afrobeat/Afropop Artiste of the Year.
After the awards show, KP mentioned advice to boycott it but chose not to listen. "It’s about the fans for me," he emphasized. Last year, he won multiple awards for his viral song "Terminator."
He lost Artiste of the Year last year to Stonebwoy but triumphed this time around. "This is a big win for me," KP remarked excitedly about his future prospects.
He encourages young people with dreams to learn from his journey of resilience. Despite early setbacks and laughter from others, KP worked harder and achieved success today.
