Afro-Dancehall artist Stonebwoy has congratulated King Promise. King Promise won the top honor at Ghana's entertainment awards show.
On May 11, 2025, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs) concluded. King Promise was named Artiste of the Year. He beat Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, and others to win the trophy.
Initially, favorites included King Paluta, King Promise, and Stonebwoy. As the event approached, only King Promise and Stonebwoy remained strong contenders. Stonebwoy was the defending champion.
Stonebwoy shared his congratulations on X. He welcomed King Promise to the AOTY winners' circle. "Congratulations @IamKingPromise on your win," he wrote.
Last year, King Promise lost to Stonebwoy for this honor. Despite his disappointment, he applauded Stonebwoy in the audience. Stonebwoy claimed he was also the winner in 2019. However, results from that year were withheld for security reasons.
During last year's ceremony, Shatta Wale disrupted while Stonebwoy received an award. This incident caused fear and controversy when Stonebwoy showed a gun.
