Francis Doku, a prominent figure in the travel industry, has advised Kafui Danku. His advice focused on television licensing issues.
The National Film Authority recently stated that TV stations risk losing their licenses. This applies to those broadcasting content without consent.
In a social media post, Doku addressed the executive director of the Authority. He shared important points for public education.
He noted that:
1. TV stations operate under "authorization," not "license."
2. The NCA issues spectrum "licenses" to telecom companies.
3. The NFA does not license or authorize TV stations.
Doku concluded that you cannot revoke a license that doesn't exist.
Piracy remains a significant issue in areas with little respect for intellectual property.
Doku suggested that the NFA can collaborate with other agencies and GIBA to combat piracy. However, revoking licenses is not an effective solution.
Thank you.
