TV stations should be arrested for airing telenovelas - Mikki Osei Berko

Veteran actor Mikki Osei Berko aka Master Richard or Dada Boat has strongly criticized Ghanaian TV stations for prioritizing foreign telenovelas over local productions.

In an interview on Talkertainment with Elsie Lamar on GhanaWebTV, he described the practice as "criminal," arguing that it deprives local actors and filmmakers of opportunities while boosting foreign economies.

"I think executives of television stations that show these programmes should be arrested for doing that because they are killing the economy," he said.

Berko insisted that media houses should be mandated to showcase Ghanaian content, emphasizing its role in national development.

He vowed to advocate for reforms to support the local film industry.
