Nigerian singer Tems has secured her second Grammy Award, winning the Best African Music Performance category with her song “Love Me Jeje”.
This marks her first solo Grammy win after previously winning for her contribution to Future’s “Wait For U”.
Tems triumphed over strong competition from fellow Nigerian artists, including Yemi Alade (*Tomorrow*), Asake (MMS), Chris Brown’s “Sensational” featuring Davido and Lojay, and Burna Boy’s “Higher”.
Notably, all nominees in the category were Nigerians, highlighting the country's dominance in African music.
The category, introduced last year, aims to recognize excellence in African music. South African artist Tyla won the inaugural award with “Water”.
Tems accepted the award with a heartfelt speech, thanking God, her team, and her mother, who was present.
Her win further cements her status as a global music powerhouse.
