Esther Smith Responds to Cwesi Oteng's Claims About Gospel Music Industry
Cwesi Oteng recently made a statement that sparked discussions online. He invited gospel singer Esther Smith to share her experiences with "evil" people in the industry. In response, Esther commented on Facebook about similar situations she has faced.
She wrote, “Hmmm this industry. If you are genuine, they will fight you.” She emphasized the importance of prayer in overcoming these challenges. Esther noted that many evil things happen, and prayer can reveal them without needing a prophet.
She added, “Sometimes they can affect your relationships, finances, or health.” Esther encouraged others to keep praying and assured them that God would help if they are genuinely called. She expressed that sharing her struggles would evoke sympathy but affirmed her faith in God.
On Joy Prime’s Changes, Cwesi Oteng explained his early experiences in the industry. He mentioned how his unique style led to envy among other musicians. Some feared he might overshadow their fame.
Cwesi claimed that people took his debut album to cemeteries and other places to hinder his success. He described entering gospel music as bringing fresh ideas and breaking new ground. However, this also attracted spiritual attacks from church members and fellow musicians.
While some have urged Cwesi to name names, others like Esther Smith acknowledge these issues exist in gospel music.
