The music industry has not been fair to me — Keeny Ice

Ghanaian artist Keeny Ice is disappointed with the music industry. He feels he is not receiving the attention he deserves.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz, he spoke with DJ Slim and Doreen Avio. He believes his hard work has not led to expected results.

"The industry has not been fair to me," he said. "I am speaking for myself." He emphasized that he is not lazy or complaining without reason.

Keeny Ice highlighted his achievements in the music scene. Since 2017, he gained visibility in Nigeria and toured Lagos.

He mentioned that Nigerian artist Victor AD's first international song featured him. Keeny Ice claims to be a top artist in the Volta Region with a loyal fan base.

"I started my own shows in 2015," he noted. At that time, he was still developing his craft but filled venues.

He expressed frustration about being overlooked for awards. After topping charts, it took him eight years to get an Unsung Artiste nomination at the Ghana Music Awards.

He also felt deserving of a spot for Afrobeats Song of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards but missed out again.

Keeny Ice has released songs like 'Deja Vu', 'Sound Check', and 'My Way'. His new EP, 'Ice Cold', will be released on May 30, 2025.
