Ghanaian rapper Opanka has expressed his dissatisfaction with the country's tax system during an appearance on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown.
According to the artist, the current taxation policies lack transparency and fail to reflect meaningful development in the lives of citizens.
“There’s no sense in the taxes we pay. People are suffering, yet we don’t see the improvements these taxes are supposed to bring,” he stated.
Opanka called on authorities to provide accountability and ensure taxes are used to benefit the nation.
While his comments have sparked debate, some acknowledge the progress taxes have funded, including infrastructure development, healthcare initiatives, and education reforms.
However, Opanka’s remarks highlight the public’s demand for more visible and impactful improvements in exchange for their contributions.
