They didn’t know I’m petty – Ruth Kadiri recalls being mocked over engagement ring size

Nollywood star Ruth Kadiri recently shared a personal experience. She revealed how her engagement announcement turned into ridicule.

In 2017, after posting about her engagement, she faced unexpected mockery. People criticized the size of her engagement ring online.

On the talk show With Chude, hosted by Chude Jideonwo, Kadiri recalled this moment. “I remember when I got engaged,” she said. “I posted it and people laughed at my ring’s size.”

Kadiri described herself as “petty” and didn’t ignore the insults. She checked the profiles of those who mocked her. She was ready with sharp comebacks.

“They don’t know I’m petty,” she smiled, revealing how criticism affected her emotionally. She decided to handle it in her own way.

Ruth Kadiri is a well-known Nigerian actress, screenwriter, and producer. Born on March 24, 1988, in Benin City, Edo State, she studied Mass Communication at the University of Lagos.

She also holds a diploma in Business Administration from Yaba College of Technology. Kadiri began acting in 2005 with the film Boys Cot.

Since then, she has featured in and written many movies. Her storytelling skills have earned her a strong reputation.

Some popular works include Matters Arising, Heart of a Fighter, and Over the Edge. As a producer, she created stories like Somebody Lied and Memory Lane.

In 2015, Ruth won Actress of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. This award solidified her status as one of Nollywood's finest talents.
