Nigerian singer Crown Uzama, professionally known as Shallipopi, has accused his former record label, Dapper Music, of financial exploitation and breach of trust.
After exiting the label in November 2024, Shallipopi revealed he was denied access to financial records and was pressured to sign a contract giving the label 30% of his earnings indefinitely.
He claimed the label prioritized profits over his artistic growth, jeopardizing his career.
In his statement, “A Message from Shallipopi,” he emphasized his decision to leave was to stand up for fair treatment of artists.
He condemned the exploitation and called for integrity and respect within the music industry.
