Three people were severely injured in a clash between two Muslim youth groups. This incident occurred during an Eid-ul-Fitr street carnival in Kasoa, Central Region.
The victims are receiving treatment at the Kasoa Polyclinic. The altercation happened on Monday evening and was fueled by ongoing tensions between the groups.
Eyewitness Mohamed Osman spoke to Adom News about the situation. He mentioned that disputes had arisen before the fasting period.
Osman noted that rumors of a possible confrontation circulated three days prior to the carnival. Elders intervened and urged both groups to remain calm.
Despite this, one group ignored their advice and caused chaos during the event. One person has been arrested in connection with the violence.
He is currently detained at the Kasoa Central Business District Police station. Police found a hammer and other offensive weapons upon his arrest.
