Renowned cultural advocate Nana Frimpong Zigah has stated that the leader of Ghana's Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture does not necessarily have to emerge from the creative industry.
Speaking on United Showbiz monitored by Virgin Blogger, he emphasized that leadership should be based on competence and the ability to implement policies effectively.
According to Zigah, the tourism and arts sector requires innovative thinking and strategic leadership to thrive.
“What matters most is someone who understands policy formulation, execution, and the ability to attract investments for the sector,” he explained.
While many argue that industry insiders are better positioned to lead, Zigah believes a skilled outsider can bring fresh perspectives.
His comments have sparked debates within the arts community, with stakeholders expressing diverse opinions on the matter.
