The suspects are mostly men in their 60s and 70s. Many have criminal records and underworld nicknames like “Old Omar” and “Blue Eyes.” These names evoke old-school French bandits from film noirs of the 1960s and 1970s.

During the robbery, Kardashian was threatened with a gun. She was tied up with her mouth taped shut. This theft is considered the largest against a private individual in France in two decades.

The trial will explore how the thieves learned about Kardashian's location during Fashion Week. They chose a moment when her bodyguard was away with her sister Kourtney at a nightclub. It is believed that Kardashian’s social media posts about her wealth may have helped the thieves plan their actions.
