A tribute concert celebrating the life and legacy of legendary musician Teddy Osei is set for tonight at SG Mall, Top High, Kumasi.
The event, which begins at 7:00 PM, is free to the public and promises an electrifying night of Osibisa’s timeless music.
This concert follows Osei’s state burial earlier today at the State House.
Organizers aim to honor his global impact, blending African rhythms with rock and jazz influences.
Teddy Osei, a revered saxophonist and founding member of Osibisa, passed away on January 14, 2025, at age 88.
Born in Kumasi, he moved to London in 1962 to study music before forming Osibisa in 1969.
The band’s unique sound revolutionized African music on the international stage.
Tonight’s event offers fans in the Ashanti Region a final chance to celebrate his extraordinary musical journey before his burial on April 5.
