UK-based Nigerian man cancels wedding over N3.5m bride price list

A Nigerian man in the UK backed out of a marriage proposal after the woman's family presented a bride price list totaling N3.5 million.

The list included items like drinks, livestock, clothing, and cash for extended family members.

Despite being committed to the woman and planning to support her education abroad, he was disheartened when she supported her family's demands.

He expressed frustration, describing the financial strain as akin to "selling a child."

The emotional turmoil led him to end the relationship, leaving the woman unaware of the loss, as shared by social media user Princess Adeola, who had initially advised him.
