Lilwin has opened up about the unexpected challenges he faced during the casting of his movie A Country Called Ghana.
In an interview on Lawson FM with Kwame Tanko, the actor expressed disappointment over Van Vicker's withdrawal from a key role. “Van Vicker’s withdrawal was a huge letdown,” Lilwin said, highlighting the setback it caused to the production.
The sudden exit forced Lilwin to act swiftly to save the project. He turned to Nigerian star Ramsey Nouah, a decision he described as a bold but costly move. “Securing Ramsey wasn’t part of the plan, but desperate times call for bold moves,” Lilwin explained.
He further disclosed the financial implications, revealing that Ramsey’s fee far exceeded what it would cost to hire top Ghanaian actors combined. “It was a serious investment, but it had to be done,” Lilwin stated.
Despite the hurdles, Lilwin admitted that Ramsey’s involvement was transformative, describing it as a “game-changer” for the film.
