Vigil night to be held for late Mawuli Semevo at National Theatre

The National Theatre of Ghana will host a special event. This event honors Mawuli Yao Semevo's life and legacy. It celebrates his significant contributions to the performing arts.

The event is titled "A Night to Remember Mawuli Yao Semevo." It will take place on Thursday, March 27, at 6:30 pm. The location is the main auditorium of the National Theatre.

Mawuli Semevo passed away on February 20. He died at Ridge Hospital from injuries sustained in a fire.

Semevo was known for his exceptional acting skills. He performed in many productions, including "Harvest at 17" and "A Stab in the Dark." Other notable works include "Escape of Love," "Like Cotton Twines," and "The Good Old Days: The Love of AA."

The tribute night will gather key figures from Ghana’s arts sector. They will reflect on Semevo’s impact and celebrate his contributions to theatre.

The event will feature performances, tributes, and storytelling sessions. It honors a man whose dedication shaped Ghana’s performing arts landscape.
