Vybz Kartel is like an angel in our eyes - Shatta Wale tells Jamaicans

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale praised Jamaican musician Vybz Kartel as "an angel" during his performance at the Freedom Street Concert in Jamaica on December 31, 2024.

Marking his first performance in Jamaica, Shatta Wale expressed deep admiration for Kartel, describing his immense popularity and respect in Africa.

"I’ve always wished to perform with you. Vybz is like an angel in Africa, in flesh and soul. We love you," Shatta Wale said, pausing to kneel in gratitude during his set.

He also shared a heartfelt message of unity, telling the crowd, "We Africans love Jamaicans and support Jamaican music everywhere.

" Shatta Wale’s performance was a celebration of cultural connections and mutual respect between Africa and Jamaica.
