The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has responded to criticisms over its lack of support for hiplife legend Okomfo Kwadee, stating that he is not a registered member of the union.
Speaking in an interview, MUSIGA’s 2nd Vice President, Abena Ruthy, clarified that while Kwadee is not a member, the union has assisted him in the past and remains open to supporting him on humanitarian grounds.
“There’s a misconception that every artiste is automatically part of MUSIGA. Kwadee is not a member in good standing, but we have helped him before and will do so again if necessary,” she stated.
Kwadee’s struggles with mental health have sparked concern among fans, with many calling for more industry support.
