Wendy Shay donates Ghc10,000 to support Kantamanto Market fire victims

Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has donated GHC10,000 to support traders affected by the January 2, 2025 fire at Kantamanto Market in Accra.

The fire destroyed over 7,000 shops, displaced 30,000 traders, and disrupted livelihoods.

Wendy visited the scene, expressed her sympathy, and urged others to assist.

Authorities suspect faulty electrical connections but are also investigating potential arson.

Kantamanto Market, a major secondhand clothing hub, is vital to Ghana’s informal economy.

Cleanup efforts are ongoing, highlighting the need for improved safety measures in such spaces.
