Wode Maya raises GH¢20k at Okponglo and online for Buz Stop Boys

Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya recently lent his support to the Buz Stop Boys, a voluntary men's sanitation group, helping them raise GH¢20,000 through donations.

The funds were collected via street donations in Okponglo and an online live video on March 28, 2025.

The Buz Stop Boys were cleaning clogged gutters at the Okponglo bus stop to prevent flooding. Wode Maya joined the cleanup effort, using tools to remove weeds and sand from the gutters.

John Dumelo, a Member of Parliament, also contributed by donating GH¢10,000 to the cause.

Wode Maya actively collected donations from pedestrians and drivers, even receiving an undisclosed donation in a white envelope from a former transport officer.

Social media users widely praised his efforts, calling him a true influencer. Some even suggested he could become President one day.

In a separate event, Wode Maya also gained attention for selling Grenada’s local dish, Oil Down, during his Caribbean tour, further highlighting his engagement with local cultures.
