Ghanaian media figure Captain Smart has raised concerns about Alpha Hour. He believes the program is a futile practice that helps few participants.
In a recent broadcast, Smart criticized the program as “noise” and a waste of time. He stated, “Participants are merely making noise and squandering their time.” He questioned the impact of late-night prayers.
Smart explained that while there is a time for everything, Christians often pray fervently without understanding why. He said, “There’s a time for everything,” emphasizing that these prayers may not reach God.
He also expressed concern about the physical toll on participants. He argued that their energy would be better spent resting for the next day.
“These Alpha Hour devotees pray daily at inconvenient hours,” he noted. They should be resting instead of preparing for morning challenges.
However, Smart clarified his issue is not with prayer itself. He opposes staying awake at midnight and making noise during these sessions.
“I do not oppose prayer,” he asserted. “But staying awake at midnight and creating noise will not lead to meaningful outcomes.”
