Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy is known for speaking his mind. He recently reacted after Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traoré reportedly declined his offer for a free concert.
Burna Boy expressed his frustration on social media. He was upset about the negative comments he received after announcing the concert. In a passionate response, he called out critics who he believes shouldn’t mention his name.
He stated, “I wanted to do a free show in Burkina Faso. I got positivity but also some morons said unbelievably negative things.” This shocked him.
Burna Boy addressed the trolls directly. He said, “You are not qualified to speak my name if your only contribution is typing dumb comments.”
He challenged those criticizing him about their connection to Africa. He asked, “How can you tell me what to do for Africa when nobody in your family has done anything significant for it?”
The Grammy-winning artist emphasized that his work speaks for itself.
“I have nothing to gain from anyone and owe no one anything,” he said. “My integrity is unquestionable. Burn in hell if you said anything negative.”
The backlash followed reports that President Traoré declined the concert offer. The president cited national challenges and the need for no distractions at this time.
