Rev Obofour Remembers His Mother Before Her Funeral
Ghanaian preacher Reverend Obofour shared his grief over losing his mother. He spoke after her funeral, recalling the painful moments leading up to it. His mother, Afia Pokuaa, passed away in February 2025. Many Ghanaians praised him for his deep love for her.
Obofour held back tears as he remembered their last moments together. He thanked everyone for their support during this difficult time. He was involved in every detail of her burial. This included choosing her resting place and preparing her body.
"I woke up at dawn," he said. "I carried her and drove her to the burial grounds."
He also shared an emotional conversation they had while driving to the funeral. "I asked her, 'Afia, how are you?'" he recalled. "She just kept looking at me."
Obofour expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love he received from Ghanaians. "God bless Ghana for the glory bestowed upon me and my mother," he said.
His mother's funeral took place from May 30 to June 1, 2025. The family did not disclose the cause of death. The events included a memorial service and a Thanksgiving service where Obofour reflected on their relationship.
Many people reacted to his heartfelt speech on social media. Comments included expressions of love and empathy for his loss.
In honor of his mother, Reverend Obofour built a large mansion in Kumasi. A video showed the house nearing completion, which began construction in February 2025.
