**Ja Rule's New School Building in Ghana Faces Criticism**
Ja Rule and his wife, Aisha Atkins, recently visited Ghana. They commissioned a six-unit classroom block at the Nuaso Anglican Basic School.
Footage of the classroom showed wooden furniture, marker boards, and cemented floors. Many Ghanaians criticized the building on social media.
On April 1, 2025, Ja Rule met with Nene Sakite II, the Overlord of Manya Krobo. He built the school in partnership with Pencils of Promise (PoP). This project aims to provide a better learning environment for students.
Ja Rule had previously announced plans for a larger school in Ghana. He reportedly signed a lucrative label deal worth $100 million.
The rapper held a groundbreaking ceremony attended by local leaders. Students had been learning in makeshift structures after heavy rains damaged their classrooms.
Despite his efforts, many Ghanaians were not impressed with the new building. Critics questioned why it wasn't more modern or advanced.
Social media reactions included comments like:
- Mr Eazi joked about Ja Rule's choice of construction.
- BRIGHT suggested that Ja Rule was misled about costs.
- Larbi Addo expressed disappointment over the lack of modern classrooms.
- Others noted that old-fashioned desks were used instead of newer designs.
Overall, while Ja Rule aimed to help the community, many felt he could have done better.
