"Black Sherif's 'Where Dem Boyz' was not about Shatta Wale": Music critic

Black Sherif vs. Kwesi Arthur: New Theory Goes Viral

A Ghanaian music critic has sparked interest in Black Sherif's song "Where Dem Boyz." This track is from his new album, *Iron Boy*. Many thought it was aimed at Shatta Wale, but it seems to target more artists.

A video explaining this theory has gone viral. It discusses Black Sherif's relationships with Kwesi Arthur and Fameye.

Black Sherif released *Iron Boy* on April 3. The song raised eyebrows due to its perceived jab at Shatta Wale. Following their feud, Shatta Wale threatened to end Black Sherif's career.

Music critic Fyronic suggests that the song reflects Black Sherif's fallout with Kwesi Arthur and Fameye. He argues that these two were once his idols.

The story begins with a collaboration between Black Sherif and Kwesi Arthur. This project was reportedly supported by Bigg Hommie Flee, a former cheerleader for Kwesi Arthur. Unfortunately, the collaboration never released, disappointing fans.

Kwesi Arthur explained that the song leaked before its release. This incident reportedly damaged the friendship between him and Black Sherif. They stopped supporting each other publicly on social media.

Reports indicate that this failed release also affected Kwesi Arthur’s relationship with Bigg Hommie Flee. Fyronic believes that Kwesi felt threatened by Black Sherif’s rise in the music industry.

Fyronic backs his claims with a post from Bigg Hommie Flee directed at Kwesi Arthur. The post questioned why he would envy Black Sherif.

Fyronic stated, “It looks like Kwesi felt betrayed.” He noted that both artists dropped albums in 2022 but had different outcomes in performance.

He pointed out that half of Kwesi’s album was Afrobeats while Blacko’s was hip-hop. Despite this difference, Blacko's album performed better than *Son of Jacob*.

Fameye is also mentioned in this theory as he had an unreleased song with Black Sherif. Fyronic emphasizes that his review is just a theory but has stirred significant discussion among fans online.

Many Ghanaians reacted to Fyronic’s analysis of "Where Dem Boyz." Some praised his insights while others suggested resolving issues through music instead of conflict.

Earlier news reported that Black Sherif received a nomination for Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards. He is the only Ghanaian nominee competing against Ayra Starr from Nigeria and Tyla from South Africa.

The nominee list released on May 8 has increased excitement for the awards show on June 9.
