Yaw Dabo Appeals to John Mahama to Fix Bole-Bamboi Road
Ghanaian actor Yaw Dabo is unhappy about the poor roads in Bole. He recorded a video asking President John Dramani Mahama to help his hometown. The video has received mixed reactions online. Some believe his appeal may have political motives.
In the video, Yaw Dabo urged Mahama to address the Wa-Sawla-Bole-Bamboi Road. This road connects the Upper West and Savannah regions to southern Ghana. Commuters report that it is hazardous and causes many accidents. The overlord of the Waala Traditional Council, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo, has also complained about it.
Dabo visited Bole with his football academy and expressed frustration over the roads. He said, "We’re begging our own father John Mahama. Please fix the roads." Residents cheered him on as he spoke for them.
President Mahama has faced issues on this road himself. In 2004, he got stuck while using it. Successive governments have ignored the plight of commuters for over two decades.
Last year, outgoing president Nana Akufo-Addo promised to repair these roads before leaving office. Dabo's appeal has sparked discussions among political commentators online.
Many Ghanaians reacted to Dabo's message. One commenter said, "You are 100% right." Another noted that it's not easy for the president. Some suggested not taking all comments seriously.
Earlier, Yaw Dabo also supported Suzzy Pinamang, a student injured in a shooting incident at school. He donated money and encouraged her not to lose hope.
