Afenyo Markin Criticizes Parliamentary Photographer for Unprofessionalism
A video has emerged of Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin criticizing parliament's photographer. He claims the photographers show bias towards the majority MPs. Afenyo-Markin expressed his frustrations during a session in parliament.
In the video, he addressed the Speaker about this issue. He noted that photographers often focus only on the majority leader. "If they want to play politics with the camera, we won’t accept it," he said.
He urged the Speaker to remind photographers to work professionally. This complaint follows a protest by the Minority Caucus on May 27. During that protest, Afenyo Markin's red bottom shoes drew attention when he took them off.
He stated, “If we do not check these things, they will zoom in on what you’re reading.” Many Ghanaians reacted to his comments online.
One user remarked that Ghana’s future is in "the wrong hands." Another suggested Afenyo-Markin should lead more effectively within his party.
Earlier, he showcased a different side during Chairman Wontumi's protest. He was seen meditating in an ancient Indian pose called Padmasana.
