Lydia Forson Receives GH¢230,000 Grant for Her Company
Ghanaian actress Lydia Forson has received a GH¢230,000 grant. This funding comes from the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre. She competed against over ten other business owners in Ghana.
Lydia is the founder of Kinky Matters, a beauty brand. The grant is also supported by Canada’s International Development and Global Affairs Canada. It amounts to CAD 21,300.
Forson participated in the Ghana Centre Innovation Centre Incubator Cohort 10 Grant Pitch. Other entrepreneurs presented innovative ideas in waste management and sustainable energy.
In an Instagram post, Lydia expressed her excitement about winning the grant. She described it as transformative and life-changing for her business.
She stated that this experience helped refine her vision and strategy. It also allowed her to understand the impact of her work better.

After receiving the grant, she traveled to China to meet suppliers. This trip will help her scale up production and acquire more raw materials locally.
