Sharaf Mahama Lectures at Johns Hopkins, Promotes Made-in-Ghana Fashion
Sharaf Mahama, son of former President John Dramani Mahama, spoke at the 2025 Africa Business Conference. The event took place at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg Centre over the weekend.
He wore a stylish, custom-made kaftan and matching trousers. Nigerian musician Banky W also attended the conference.
During his speech, Sharaf urged investors to support African sports and entertainment. He highlighted how African creatives are reshaping narratives and building billion-dollar businesses.
Sharaf is the CEO of Legacy Rise Sports and the Sharaf Mahama Foundation. His organization has significantly impacted sports development and youth empowerment in Ghana.
The panel included notable figures like Akumma Cook and Lee-Roy Chetty. They discussed media, marketing, and entertainment in Africa.
On Instagram, Sharaf shared photos from the event. He emphasized the importance of investing in Africa’s sports and entertainment sectors.
In addition to his conference participation, Sharaf organized free health screenings for elderly people through his foundation. He provided services to over 8,000 individuals in Damango and Tamale.
During Ramadan 2024, he donated food to Muslims breaking their fast. He observed Iftar with the Islamic community in Greater Accra's Okaikwei Central Constituency.
Before this event, he visited Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu for advice and prayers. The NDC's parliamentary candidate Baba Sadiq collaborated on this initiative.
Earlier reports noted that Sharaf attended a star-studded launch event with celebrities like Serwaa Amihere. She wore a beautiful kente gown while greeting him warmly at the gathering.
