Legendary Ghanaian Musicians Prodigal and Zeal Spotted in Nima
Prodigal and Zeal, members of the famous group VIP, were recently seen in Nima. A video shared on TikTok excited many Ghanaians. The duo has been out of the spotlight since their group split. Notably, Promzy now lives overseas.
In the video, Prodigal and Zeal chatted by the roadside. Fans expressed their desire to see VIP reunite. The two musicians were spotted in the same community where they started in the early 1990s.
VIP was influential in Ghana’s hiplife music scene. The original lineup included Lazzy (Zeal), Promzy, and Prodigal. They rose to fame from Nima and shaped hiplife music in Ghana.
The group faced changes over time. Promzy left VIP in 2013 after multiple requests to go solo. His absence became clear when a song cover featured only Zeal, Prodigal, and Nigerian artist Terry G.
After Promzy's exit, Reggie Rockstone joined the group, which then became VVIP. Together with Prodigal and Zeal, they continued making music. However, some fans still missed the original trio.
Social media users reacted positively to the recent video of Prodigal and Zeal. One user commented about listening to VIP's "Obaa Sweetie." Another noted that Promzy returned briefly but did not achieve significant success with new artists.
Fans reminisced about how much joy these musicians brought them during school days.
In other news, musician D Cryme won the SRC presidential race at Methodist University. He celebrated his victory on social media while receiving congratulations from many Ghanaians.
