Praye Tietia Opens Up About Wife’s 8-Year Battle to Conceive
Ghanaian musician Praye Tietia has shared his wife Selly Galley’s eight-year struggle to conceive. He spoke with media personality Nana Romeo about the emotional toll on her.
Selly faced mockery for not being able to give birth. The couple welcomed twins, a boy and a girl, in August 2023 in the USA.
Praye Tietia, whose real name is Steven Fiawoo, discussed the cultural pressures they faced. He noted that online criticism affected Selly's mental health significantly.
The couple married in September 2015 and struggled to conceive for eight years. During this time, Selly received harsh comments online until they had their twins.
Praye expressed feeling powerless to help his wife during their ordeal. He said, “After eight years without conceiving, I was very worried for my wife.”
He added that societal pressure and online trolling were overwhelming for her. They experienced heartbreak when they lost an eight-month pregnancy.
“It was very traumatizing,” he recalled. “It was fulfilling that God listened to our prayers.”
Fans reacted emotionally to Praye's remarks and sent well wishes to the family. His TikTok video sharing these feelings gained attention.
Selly also spoke about her struggles with online bullying during their journey. At their children's christening in September 2024, she reflected on her pain from social media abuse.
“I cried a lot last year,” she said, thanking God for their blessings now. She emphasized how challenging it was to ignore negative comments over the years.
Recently, Praye Tietia celebrated his twins' first birthday with a beautiful ceremony. Their children were introduced publicly at an event attended by many celebrities.
Ghanaians praised the couple for their resilience and love throughout this journey.
