Veteran broadcaster Daddy 'Ahuma Ocansey' Bosco is a member of MUSIGA. He advises creatives in government positions to stay connected with the industry.
On May 3, 2025, he spoke on Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z. He emphasized that regular interaction with industry stakeholders is crucial. This connection will benefit their work significantly.
Bosco addressed mistakes made by Mark Okraku-Mantey, the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts. He noted that Mark faced challenges due to bureaucracy but failed to engage with creative arts professionals.
He suggested that Mark should have held quarterly meetings with industry members. "Even when he was President of the Creative Arts Council, he needed these engagements," Bosco said.
He expressed that listening without action creates a disconnect. "You were one of us," he told Mark. Regular meetings could have fostered better collaboration and understanding.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama announced periodic meetings for the tourism and creative arts sectors. These meetings aim to assess progress and address concerns.
At the launch of the Blackstar Experience on May 1, 2025, Rex Owusu Marfo shared plans for Creative Connect. This program will gather people from cultural and creative industries for meaningful discussions.
