Kwame Lighter, a popular phone repairer from Kumasi, is opening a new shop. The shop is located in Kronum. A video of the shop's interior being set up has gone viral.

In the video, Kwame watched as two artisans installed shelves and cabinets. They also added other necessary furniture for his work. Many Ghanaians expressed excitement about his business expansion.

This new shop follows a meeting with Minister Samuel Nartey George on April 9, 2025. The minister first saw Kwame's video online but initially overlooked it. After hearing about Kwame from others, he decided to watch it again while in Rwanda.

Impressed by what he saw, the minister contacted the Ashanti Regional Minister for help. They arranged a plane ticket for Kwame to fly to Accra for their meeting.

During their conversation, Kwame shared that he trains young people in phone repair. The minister recognized him as an example of local talent needing support. He mentioned plans to help young entrepreneurs like Kwame grow their businesses.
