Afua Asantewaa Updates Fans on Her Singing Marathon Record Attempt
Afua Asantewaa has shared an update about her second attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the longest solo singing marathon. She previously tried for this record in 2023, but faced many controversies. Her first attempt was ultimately disqualified by Guinness World Records.
Asantewaa confirmed that she is still waiting for results from her second submission. She informed fans through social media that no official feedback has been released yet.
Her first attempt took place from December 24 to December 29, 2023. It ended in disappointment and was rejected by Guinness in February 2024. The organization noted that while her effort inspired many, it did not meet their standards.
In December 2024, Afua made a second official attempt. She sang from December 21 to December 26, achieving an impressive total of 121 hours and 39 minutes. This event received overwhelming support from Ghanaians online and at the venue.
After her performance, Afua thanked the public for their support. She said their encouragement helped her push through exhaustion. Afua expressed pride in representing Ghana on a global stage.
Recently, she interacted with fans on social media regarding her latest attempt's outcome. Some fans expressed frustration over the wait for results, while others encouraged her to keep trying regardless of the outcome.
In addition to her singing marathon updates, Afua recently traveled to the United States with her three daughters. They departed from Kotoka International Airport on April 16. During this trip, she hinted at taking on new challenges while remaining hopeful about her previous record attempt.
