"I will double the $800 and return it to Sammy Gyamfi": Agradaa vows, video

Agradaa Promises to Return Dollar Gift from Sammy Gyamfi Amid Controversy

Agradaa, a Ghanaian televangelist, has vowed to return a dollar gift. This gift was given to her by Sammy Gyamfi, the acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board. She made this promise in a TikTok video amid ongoing controversy.

In the video, Agradaa stated she would add her own money to the $800. She plans to return it to Gyamfi to avoid further drama. Agradaa also mentioned she would record the return for proof.

She expressed concern that Gyamfi might lose his position due to this incident. Agradaa did not want his kind gesture towards her to lead to negative consequences.

The controversy began when a video surfaced showing Gyamfi giving multiple dollar notes to Agradaa. They met at a memorial service for Prophet Nigel Gaisie's late father on May 10, 2025.

Many Ghanaians reacted strongly, calling for an investigation into Gyamfi's actions. Some demanded he be removed from his role in the Mahama administration.

In response, Gyamfi apologized on social media. He clarified that giving money was meant as an act of kindness.

On May 12, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah summoned Gyamfi for clarification about the cash gift. Agradaa also faced backlash and calls from Ghanaians demanding she return the money.

Social media users shared mixed reactions regarding Agradaa's pledge. Some accused her of taking advantage of Gyamfi’s generosity.

Earlier reports indicated that Agradaa threatened to sell her church if Gyamfi lost his job over this issue. She even mentioned renouncing her nationality in protest against potential repercussions for him.

This situation continues to unfold as both figures navigate public scrutiny and backlash.
