"Is it because I'm a comedian?": Lil Win replies critics of Ibrahim Traore movie

Kumawood Star Lil Win Responds to Critics of Ibrahim Traore Movie

Kwadwo Nkansah, known as 'Lil Win,' has addressed critics of his new movie. The film is titled *Ibrahim Traore: The Last African Hero*. Some have accused him of promoting coups. Lil Win disagrees with this view.

He believes the criticisms are valid but misguided. Critics think he cannot tell serious stories because he is a comedian.

Lil Win's production company, Wezzy Empire Films, is behind the movie. It aims to portray Burkina Faso's military leader, Ibrahim Traore. Recently released excerpts sparked harsh criticism from some commentators.

Nana Frimpong Ziega from Kessben FM criticized Lil Win for glorifying gun culture and military rule. He believes this sends the wrong message.

In response, Lil Win's team defended his right to tell serious stories. They issued an official statement through publicist Emmanuel Arhin, also known as Bossu Kule. The statement clarified that the film does not promote violence or military takeovers.

The team also responded to Ziega’s comments about focusing only on Ghanaian stories. They described his views as narrow-minded and emphasized that storytelling can include controversial topics.

They stated that being a comedian does not disqualify Lil Win from telling serious stories. If comedy helps convey important messages, it should be embraced.

Earlier reports highlighted Lil Win's generosity when he sprayed cash for schoolchildren in a recent event. Ghanaians praised him for this act of kindness and hope he continues such gestures in their communities.
