"It was my anointing": Agradaa takes credit for Wontumi's release

Agradaa Claims Her Anointing Led to Chairman Wontumi's Release

Ghanaian pastor Agradaa has commented on the release of Chairman Wontumi. He is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Wontumi was detained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

In a TikTok Live video, Agradaa said her anointing caused his release. She visited the EOCO office on June 2, 2025, before his release. Many viewers found her comments amusing.

Agradaa stated, "I am not the one who bailed him." She insisted that it was her anointing that led to his freedom. She urged Ghanaians not to credit anyone else for this outcome.

She explained that her blessings touched Wontumi during her visit. Agradaa claimed that wherever she goes, blessings follow. She also prophesied blessings for everyone watching her video.

Social media users reacted strongly to Agradaa's statements. One user called her an "opportunist." Others expressed disbelief and criticized her claims.

Chairman Wontumi was arrested and later released by EOCO. After his release, he visited former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on June 3, 2025. The meeting showed him in good spirits and was seen as a sign of unity within the NPP.

Videos from their meeting circulated online, highlighting support among party members during ongoing challenges.
