Davido Asks Black Sherif for Chart Favor

Nigerian musician Davido has humorously asked Ghana's Black Sherif for a favor. He wants to overtake him on the Ghana Apple Music chart. Davido made this request regarding his song "With You."

On April 28, 2025, Davido shared an Instagram story. He posted a screenshot of the top 16 songs on the Ghana Apple Music chart. His collaboration "With You," featuring Omah Lay, was in third place.

However, Black Sherif's songs from his album "Iron Boy" filled the other fifteen spots. In his post, Davido jokingly wrote: “@blacksherif_ IRON BOY .. how far make I enter #1 I wan screen shot ????????????????❤️.”

Ghanaians reacted with laughter to Davido's playful appeal. They were not surprised by Black Sherif’s success with "Iron Boy."

Black Sherif, whose real name is Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, released his album on April 3, 2025. The album received positive reviews and significant attention online.

"Iron Boy" debuted at number 10 on the Billboard World Albums Chart shortly after its release. It also broke records for opening-day streams on Spotify with 2 million streams.

Black Sherif celebrated his album launch with a North American tour and a European tour starting April 4, 2025. He performed at various venues including the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire in London.

Social media users shared their thoughts about Davido's appeal. Comments included praise for Black Sherif’s work and humor about Davido’s request.

Earlier, Kevin Taylor critiqued "Iron Boy" on his show. He suggested that it did not match the quality of Black Sherif’s previous album, "The Villain I Never Was."
