"More jobs for the boys": Malik Basintale to partner with Shatta Wale’s Shaxi

YEA CEO Malik Basintale Partners with Shatta Wale for Job Creation

Malik Basintale, the CEO of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), is reaching out to Shatta Wale. They are discussing a potential partnership involving Shatta Wale's ride-hailing service, Shaxi. The goal is to create more job opportunities for Ghana's youth.

Shatta Wale launched Shaxi in December 2021. His vision was to tackle youth unemployment in Ghana. Drivers can join by paying a daily fee of GHS 20. This allows them flexible working hours and a chance to earn a steady income.

The initiative aims to provide affordable transportation while empowering drivers financially. Malik Basintale wants to explore how they can work together to expand Shaxi’s reach. This aligns with YEA’s mission to reduce youth unemployment through innovative solutions.

Potential Benefits for Ghanaians

1. Increased Employment Opportunities: This partnership could create thousands of jobs in ride-hailing.

2. Support for Local Enterprises: Partnering with Shaxi promotes local entrepreneurship and social impact.

3. Economic Empowerment: The collaboration may help young Ghanaians achieve consistent incomes and reduce poverty.

4. Digital Innovation: It highlights the role of digital platforms in modernizing Ghana's transport sector.

In another development, Malik Basintale met with the Buz Stop Boys, a youth sanitation group, at YEA headquarters in Accra. They discussed strategies for improving environmental cleanliness across Ghana.

Basintale praised their commitment to promoting sanitation and community development. He emphasized the importance of volunteerism in addressing social challenges.

He also mentioned receiving requests from Ghanaians on social media about engaging more with this group, especially regarding YEA’s relationship with Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a waste management company.

Through these initiatives, Malik Basintale and YEA show their dedication to tackling youth unemployment and environmental sustainability in Ghana.
