"NDC is in power but we still struggling for jobs": Mzbel cries, fans fire her

MzBel Expresses Frustration Over Job Shortages Under Mahama's Administration

MzBel is unhappy with job creation under President John Mahama.

In a social media post, she shared her frustrations. Supporters are pressuring her for jobs that aren't available.

Her post received mixed reactions from followers. Some agreed with her, while others criticized her.

MzBel, whose real name is Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, campaigned for the NDC and Mahama in 2024. She helped mobilize other celebrities for door-to-door campaigns. Mahama was sworn into office on January 7, 2025.

Now, about 100 days into his administration, MzBel feels overwhelmed by requests for jobs. She posted a throwback video of her campaign on Facebook on April 19, 2025.

She wrote about the "unbearable" pressure from constituents and supporters: “Our party is in power but we are still struggling to get jobs... The pressure on me right now is unbearable.”

Reactions to MzBel's comments varied widely among her followers. Some urged patience while others were critical.

One critic asked why she felt pressured so soon after the election. They reminded her that many campaigned too and questioned if she was responsible for job creation.

Another follower pointed out that jobs depend on skills and availability, not just campaigning.

Others suggested that supporters should focus on creating their own opportunities instead of relying solely on government jobs.

MzBel had previously expressed feeling overlooked by the NDC after not receiving an appointment. Despite this, she mentioned she would likely decline any role offered to her.

President Mahama appointed several celebrities to his government but did not include MzBel among them.
