Vivian Jill Aims for School Feeding Contract; NDC Member Threatens Her
A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has threatened actress Vivian Jill Lawrence. The politician warned her not to pursue a school feeding contract in her area. An audio recording of this threat has raised concerns for Vivian's safety.
Vivian Jill recently expressed interest in becoming a school feeding contractor. She campaigned for the NDC during the 2024 elections, supporting John Dramani Mahama. Reports say she was awarded a contract in the Ahafo Ano South constituency.
Baah Acheamfour, the Ashanti Regional Deputy Secretary for the NDC, discussed this issue on Akoma FM. Tensions have risen in Ahafo Ano South over Vivian's contract.
An audio leak features an NDC Women's organiser criticizing party leaders. She claimed they ignored loyal supporters who helped during the campaign. In her angry remarks, she threatened Vivian directly, saying she would face consequences if she pursued the contract.
Vivian was active during the election campaign, sharing food with voters at polling stations. After Mahama's inauguration, she attended his Thanksgiving dinner and met his wife, Lordina.
As of now, Vivian has not publicly responded to these threats or allegations regarding her contract.
Ghanaians have shared their thoughts on social media about this situation. One user said the NDC organiser is just bragging and that Vivian should proceed without fear. Another warned that someone had previously died due to issues related to school feeding programs and advised Vivian to protect herself.
Others pointed out that threats like these can lead to legal consequences and suggested reporting them to authorities.
In related news, Ebi Bright has started work after losing her bid for MP in Tema Central with the NDC. She was nominated by John Dramani Mahama and became Tema's first female mayor on May 12.
