King Paluta Criticizes DJ Slim Over Artiste of the Year Comments
King Paluta disagreed with DJ Slim's recent comments. DJ Slim claimed only King Promise and Stonebwoy deserve the Artiste of the Year award at the upcoming TGMA. He argued that artists who do not show public interest should not be rewarded.
In his post on X, DJ Slim expressed disappointment if anyone other than Stonebwoy or King Promise won. He stated, "You can’t show less interest in the scheme and expect to be awarded."
King Paluta responded strongly to this viewpoint. He emphasized that awards should reflect hard work, not publicity efforts. He said, "So they should award based on PR and not metrics?"
Paluta criticized the idea that public relations should determine winners. He believes it is unfair to overlook deserving artists just because they don’t promote themselves actively.
This year, King Paluta is a top contender for Artiste of the Year. He faces competition from King Promise, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Joe Mettle, Kweku Smoke, and Team Eternity. All have made significant contributions to music over the past year.
His comments sparked reactions online. Some users agreed with him while others supported DJ Slim’s views, especially fans of Stonebwoy and King Promise.
In related news, Shatta Wale endorsed King Promise for the 2025 TGMA Artiste of the Year title. In a video, he praised King Promise as deserving of the award.
The TGMA Artiste of the Year category features strong contenders this year. King Promise leads in nominations and is considered a favorite after losing last year to Stonebwoy.
