"She's blessed": Grace Nortey resurfaces in public, receives big honour

Veteran Actress Grace Nortey Honoured at Ashanti Festival

Grace Nortey received a citation during the first Ashanti Festival (AshantiFest) on April 17, 2025.

A documentary featuring an interview with her was shown at a movie night event. This event was organized by the Ashanti Regional Minister.

Many Ghanaians reacted positively to the video on social media.

Grace Nortey was among several notable actors honored, including Naana Hayford and Paa George. They were recognized for their contributions to Ghana's film industry over the years.

The documentary included an interview with Grace at her home in Accra. Fellow actress Edinam Atatsi welcomed the interviewers and spoke about Grace.

Grace has been a key figure in the movie industry for over fifty years. However, she has faced health challenges that limited her recent participation in acting.

She struggles with physical health issues and eyesight problems. These difficulties make it hard for her to take on demanding roles or read long scripts.

Her recent appearance marked her first public sighting in years. She celebrated her 88th birthday on February 1, 2025, receiving much admiration from fans online.

Social media users shared their thoughts about Grace being honoured. Alice reminisced about enjoying her movies as a child and praised her long life.

Another user recalled the good old days of watching Grace act alongside Macjordan Amartey. Esther expressed how blessed she feels for Grace’s achievements.

Mami K wished Grace continued good health and blessings from above.

Earlier, Dr Ernest Ofori Sarpong also received recognition as an Outstanding Georgia Citizen in the USA for his business success and philanthropy.

Many Ghanaians congratulated him on social media after this honor.
