In 2018, Kim began her apprenticeship at a law firm in San Francisco. This hands-on experience helped her meet the rigorous demands of legal education.

In 2021, Kim faced a challenge when taking the “baby bar” exam. She passed it on her fourth attempt and shared her struggles publicly. Her graduation ceremony was delayed by COVID-19 and work commitments.
