Cynthia Morrison Defends Marriage Amid Infidelity Claims
Ghanaian politician Cynthia Morrison recently spoke about her marriage in a viral interview. She is the proprietress of Maryland Montessori Learning Centres. In the interview, she stated she would not leave her husband, even if he cheats.
Cynthia Morrison is a former Member of Parliament for Agona West. The 60-year-old mother of six said she would forgive her husband, Herbert Morrison, if he were unfaithful. She believes relationships are complex and staying together can be better than separating.
Morrison emphasized that she would rather "polish" her cheating husband than face uncertainty with someone new. Her comments have sparked mixed reactions on social media.
She also criticized Christopher Arthur, the NPP's parliamentary candidate for Agona West. She accused him of spreading falsehoods about her family to gain political advantage. Cynthia expressed disappointment that he exploited private details for his ambitions.
Morrison described Arthur as someone she considered almost like a son. She was upset by his claims that her husband encouraged him to run against her.
In her words, “Even if I walked in on him with another woman, I would bring him home.” She added that appreciating what you have is important.
On December 16, 2024, Cynthia Morrison was expelled from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). This decision came after an extended constituency executive committee meeting on December 15. Expelled members cannot claim party membership for life.
Earlier reports indicated that Cynthia planned to run for parliament in 2024 despite losing the NPP primaries in her constituency. She urged constituents to ignore rumors about changing her mind regarding running for office.
