"They laughed at me": Adwoa Smart shares sad story of why she stopped schooling

Actress Adwoa Smart Discusses Leaving School Due to Negative Comments

Adwoa Smart recently shared her experiences in an interview with Giovani Caleb. She explained that she stopped schooling because of negative comments about her height. Many people teased her, which discouraged her from continuing her education.

In the past, there was little understanding of stunted growth. Adwoa noted that people often assumed her stature made her less capable. This led to frequent laughter and feelings of being different, making it hard for her to focus on studies.

Today, Adwoa believes she would have stayed in school. She feels society is more informed and accepting now. Children facing similar challenges are less likely to experience bullying like she did.

Adwoa expressed pride in how far she has come. Her fame has inspired others like her to live freely. She mentioned that seeing her confidence encourages others to embrace themselves.

She also credited veteran actress Grace Omaboe, known as Maame Dokono, for support during her youth. Maame Dokono helped build Adwoa's confidence and taught her not to feel ashamed.

In previous interviews, Adwoa discussed how height affects personality. She addressed claims that short people are easily angered. While she sometimes gets upset, she quickly moves on and stays calm.

Adwoa Smart was born on October 5, 1965. She gained fame for her role in the TV series *Obra*. At 18, she began a relationship with a 35-year-old musician from the Obra Soul Train band. They had a daughter who sadly passed away after seven months.

Another diminutive actor, Yaw Dabo, is also achieving great things despite his height challenges. His football academy is thriving and he has flown players abroad for trials with European teams.
